Do you ever feel lonely
or empty, even when you are busy every day?
Do you wonder why your
heart still feels sad?
This story is about Anna, a baker. She worked hard and baked bread every day. But her heart felt empty. She missed her family and wished God was near her.
One night, Anna prayed
with hope. God heard her wish and promised to visit her home the next day and
He did come to her.
Once upon a time, there was a busy town
located on the bank of a wide river.
In this town lived a kind woman named Anna. She was a widow.
Every day, Anna worked in her small bakery. She
woke up early and baked bread and sweet buns. The smell of fresh bread filled
the street.
When the bakery closed, Anna went back to her quiet cottage. Her heart felt empty. The silence made her feel lonely. Even the warm and yeasty smell from her oven could not chase away her emptiness and loneliness.
I wish I could see Him, just once.”
That night, Anna had a strange dream. A gentle
voice spoke to her heart.
“Anna, wait for me. I will visit you tomorrow.”
Anna woke up feeling
excited and afraid. Could it be true? Would God really come to her small home?
The next morning, Anna cleaned her cottage. She baked her best bread. She set one special place at her table.
Then
she waited by the window.
In the morning, Anna saw Pavel, the old fish seller. He was sitting on the steps outside. He was tired and rubbing his sore feet. Anna wanted to keep waiting for God.
But she felt sorry for Pavel. She opened her door and said, “Please come in.
Rest for a while and eat some bread.”
Pavel smiled and came
inside. They shared bread and talked kindly. Then Pavel left,
feeling happy and thankful. Anna went back to waiting.
In the afternoon, a poor woman walked by with her two small children. The children were cold and hungry. The mother asked for help. Anna did not turn them away.
She welcomed them inside. She gave them warm milk and buns. The children hugged her before leaving.
As evening came, Anna heard loud voices outside. A young girl named Lena was crying. A neighbor was angry and shouting at her. A window had broken by mistake.
Anna went outside calmly. She spoke kindly to
the neighbor. She comforted the girl and
wiped her tears. She promised to help fix the window. Peace returned to the
street.
Night fell. Anna sat alone again. The special place at the table was still empty.
She felt sad and whispered, “I waited all day, but You did not come.”
Suddenly, the room
felt warm. The gentle voice returned.
“Anna, I did come.”
Anna saw pictures in her mind. She saw Pavel
resting. She saw the smiling children. She saw the girl feeling safe.
The voice said, “When you showed love, I was there.”
Anna understood at last. God had come through
people in need.
From that day on, Anna was never lonely again. Her bakery became a place of love. And she learned a simple truth: Where love lives, God lives too.
At last, Anna understood the true meaning of God’s visit. God did not come as a stranger in bright light. God came through tired feet, hungry children, and a crying girl. Every time Anna showed love, God was near. Every kind word became a prayer. Every helpful act became a blessing. She learned that kindness opens the door to God. From that day, Anna lived with joy and peace. She knew she was never alone. For where love, kindness, and helpfulness live, God lives too.
